			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Since the F8 conference last September &amp; the release of the Facebook Timeline there has been whispers of what that might mean for business pages. Well we may be finding out very soon. The first ever fMC event a Facebook Conference aimed at Marketers to be held on Feb. 28th via <a href="http://mysocialcalling.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/muppets.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-186" title="muppets" src="http://mysocialcalling.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/muppets-300x234.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="234" /></a>live stream and in person for those lucky enough to get on the list, is when Facebook may be announcing Timeline for business pages.</p>
<p>We have heard representatives mention that the they want the look and feel of Facebook to be consistent, but what will that mean for our current pages? This could give us an opportunity to actually put more information about your company on the page, could allow you to create more interaction not just a &#8220;like&#8221; but maybe a &#8220;watched&#8221;or &#8220;ate&#8221;. The down side is there is no idea yet what that might mean for the design on the pages. It could add to the design capabilities of the current pages or change them completely leaving many who have spent time and money to design them wondering what to do next.</p>
<p>Since this is all rumor right now all we can do is wait and see. But we promise that the team at My Social Calling will be there to let you know what&#8217;s next for these Facebook pages.</p>

<p><em>Be a newspaper and TV channel</em></p>
<p>Use your social media profiles for a chance to deliver great content like your own newspaper or television channel!<br />

<p><em>2012 is the year of the video</em></p>
<p>Chris&#8217;s own six year old son has 20 videos uploaded to YouTube. I hear this and gasp! How many videos have you made? I myself have made it a goal to make at least 1 video per month, so far so good. <em></em></p>
<p><em>If a new visitor cannot immediately know what to do on your webpage, it&#8217;s broken!</em></p>
<p>Once he said this in his keynote, I immediately thought to myself, &#8216;what is my webpage asking my readers to do?&#8217;. Hopefully it is enticing them to sign up for my newsletter and read my latest post.</p>

<p>Erika is one badass chick! Her session was meant to walk us through how to ignite your brand but it went so much farther than that, here is what I learned from Erika!<br />

<p>As an Entrepreneur you are your brand, you should not try to be someone else or represent something that you do not believe in, if you are yourself, everything else will fall into place.</p>
<p><em>Be Unpopular </em></p>
<p><em></em><a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1118134664/ref=as_li_tf_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=thepowofunp-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;creativeASIN=1118134664">The Power of Unpopular</a> is the title of her new book to be released next month, but the ideas behind it were given to us here. You don&#8217;t need to be &#8220;popular&#8221; and liked by everyone, you just need to be authentic to you.. By doing this you will reach the right people, its about quality not quantity!<br />

<p><em>Never apologize for your brand</em></p>
<p>You are you, and Erika is Erika. She explained that she would curse, she showed off her tattoos and if you didn&#8217;t like it well, no one was keeping you in that room, but she was not going to apologize for her brand. That takes guts and integrity and made me really think about what I stand for as a person and a brand.</p>
<p>I also had the opportunity to sit in on <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Your-Best-Just-Got-Better/dp/1118121988/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1320362086&amp;sr=1-1">Jason Womack</a> and <a href="http://nobullshitsocialmedia.com/buythisbook">Jason Falls</a> sessions and learned so much more, but I am keeping those tips for another day! I had a great time, got a signed copy of Chris Brogans book on G+ for business and got pumped up to start implementing these practices.  Any one you are pumped up to hear speak or get insight from this year?</p>

<p>So many people make resolutions and promises in January, many which are already broken by today (Jan. 31st). I instead have decided to follow in the steps of one of the social media icons <a title="Chris Brogan" href="http://chrisbrogan.com">Chris Brogan</a> and choose three words instead. These words will help me discover my path for the next 12 months more of a way of being rather than a promise or resolution. So here are my three words and what they mean to me and my 2012.</p>
<p><strong>Educate</strong></p>
<p>This year I have decided to not only educate others but to take time to educate myself. This means seminars, webinars, active groups, books, podcasts anything that I can get my hands on! This excites me pumps me up and makes me want to share everything with my friends and clients. Education will make me better at my job and will ultimately help my clients better achieve their goals. I also am taking this year to add  Seminars to My Social Callings list of <a href="http://mysocialcalling.com/42-2/">services</a>. I love teaching people something that I am passionate about so I figured that this would be a great way to share the wealth of information that I learn (including the actual How To&#8217;s) with others.</p>
<p><strong>Prosper</strong></p>
<p>To be prosperous to me does not just mean money  but to become strong and flourishing. Everyone needs support to achieve this so that&#8217;s what I intend to give! Helping others become prosperous in business and relationships through social media will be My Social Calling&#8217;s focus in 2012.</p>
<p><strong>Collaborate</strong></p>
<p>I have really met some wonderful people in the past few years and in the next 12 months I will collaborate with them and introduce them to you. They have so many talents, wonderful work ethic and great personalities that I know you will fall in love with them just like I am! Collaboration has never really been top of mind to me because for so long I worked in an environment that had everyone trying to beat each other rather than work together to achieve the goal. I have since seen the power that collaboration has when I participated in The Pre-Holiday Game of Like last fall and again during the January Jig where <a href="http://www.facebook.com/ideagirlmedia">Idea Girl Media</a> brought together 26 wonderful people to take over her page and share quality content with her fans.</p>
